The city of delicate porcelain
This city in the centre-west region of France was recently awarded the official label of City of Art and History, and rightly so: it’s stuffed with cultural and architectural gems. And getting there couldn’t be easier thanks to OUIBUS!
When you arrive into this compact and picturesque city, get a feel for the place by exploring the ancient streets of the medieval Cite quarter. Next, head to the charming Boucherie district to try some meaty specialities. Once you’ve eaten your fill, make your way to the Place de la Motte where you can admire the magnificent trompe-l’œil mural painting which tells the story of the city. Limoges is often referred to as the “red city” for its workers’ history, which you can learn all about at the Cité des Métiers et des Arts. It’s also renowned for the famous porcelain that was produced here, known just as limoges. You can see some gorgeous examples at the Pavillon de la porcelaine - Musée Haviland. However, Limoges is far more than a museum city. It’s alive and kicking and its nightlife is a reflection of this dynamic energy. Check out the various clubs and concert venues, including the famous Zénith, and choose a gig or night out to suit you.
You’ll leave Limoges by OUIBUS with a lasting impression of the city’s history and culture, but also of its a fun loving spirit.
